President's message

TAD President’s Message 2022 – 2024

I have chosen a needle and thread as the symbols for my term as President.  If you think of the needle as a leader and the thread as members, you can see how they work together.  But they cannot work without each other.  You need to remember that no one needle can do all the work and no two threads are the same or require the same care. There are so many types of needles in the world, some are sharp and others are blunt.  There are needles made from metal, bone, or even plastic.  Each needle does a different job. Some make pretty images, others make things hold together, while others can make a very pretty lace.  The main job of a needle is to help lead the thread through the material that you are working with.  We all know that when using a needle we need to be careful and watch what we are doing, it’s easy to drop a stitch or break the thread.

Eleanor Roosevelt said, “You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.  You are able to say to yourself, ‘I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’”

And we can take on the next thing that comes along.  We are Club Women!

I believe that we can make the small repairs that we need to make in our lives and our clubs.  I believe that if we can not make repairs we will start from scratch and work our way from the bottom to the top with all new tools and supplies.  And I believe that we will SHINE BRIGHT within ourselves, our clubs, and our communities.

Why? Because we are going to “Mend It, Make It New or Bling It!”
